Grow for Vets takes great pride in serving those who have served us! When our veterans signed up to serve us, we promised to care for them and their families in the event that they were injured or wounded. Grow for Vets believes that it is important to honor this promise and serves veterans who sustained a physical or mental injury, illness, or wound during their military service.

It is an unfortunate fact that many of the men and women who have sacrificed so much to protect our way of life suffer so much physical and emotional pain — they number in the hundreds of thousands.

Current statistics for Iraq and Afghanistan show that for every American soldier killed, 7 were wounded.

In addition to the more than 49,000 U.S. servicemen and women who have been physically injured in recent military conflicts, it is estimated that more than 400,000 service members are currently struggling with the invisible wounds of war including debilitating depression, combat-related stress, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), traumatic brain injury (TBI). An additional 325,000 are estimated to have experienced a traumatic brain injury while serving in combat.

As is too often the case in civilian medical care, the easiest answer for treating pain and emotional and mental conditions is pharmaceuticals. Most of these prescription medications are debilitating and many are extremely dangerous, highly-addictive narcotics. Far too many veterans feel that current treatment regimes are designed to keep them in a drug induced stupor for the rest of their lives.

An ever increasing number of medical studies have shown that marijuana is a safe and effective treatment for pain, Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) , and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). Despite this fact, some people maintain the belief that marijuana is nothing more than a dangerous drug. However, numerous recent polls indicate that well over 80% of all Americans support the use of medical marijuana. Other polls indicate that more than 50% of Americans now support full legalization and almost the same number support banning tobacco products.

  • There is significant medical and scientific evidence that proves that cannabis is safe and effective in use for PTSD.
  • Peer-reviewed scientific articles show that cannabis helps memory retrieval, fear suppression and stress mediation.
  • The New Mexico clinical study that showed a 75% reduction in CAPS scores for PTSD patients.
  • Unlike other pharmaceuticals commonly prescribed, cannabis does not impair the respiratory system.
  • There is zero evidence than cannabis causes any harm. In fact, cannabis is less addictive than caffeine.

Regardless of their personal position on the use marijuana for medical purposes, there is virtually universal agreement that our Veterans deserve to have any and all treatment options available to them. Medical marijuana has allowed thousands of Veterans to either reduce, or completely discontinue the use of dangerous prescription medications.

The mission of Grow for Vets is to help save the more than 50 Veterans who die each day from suicide and prescription drug overdose. Grow for Vets provides Veteran heroes with safe alternative to deadly prescription drugs. We connect Veterans with the knowledge and resources necessary to obtain or grow their own cannabis for treatment of their medical conditions.

The vision of Grow for Vets is to raise awareness by enlisting the public’s aid and support in ensuring that all injured and wounded Veterans receive the respect and dignity of life that they deserve.

Grow for Vets was developed to provide Veterans with unique products, programs and services designed to assist them in living with injuries sustained while protecting our freedom.
